Tiny Teams Baseball Update Notes - January 28, 2025

Hey Tiny Teams Baseball Fans!

We've got some big updates for you today, featuring a brand-new retirement system, some key changes to our season structure, and some important tuning improvements that we think will improve the overall experience. Let's dive into the details of this exciting new update!

✨ What's New

Retirement System:

• We have added a new retirement system.
• Players now have 3 career stages: Rookie, Prime, and Veteran.
  • Career stages determine the number of talent slots players have:
    • Rookie (1 talent)
    • Prime (2 talents)
    • Veteran (3 talents)
  • Players will have career lengths of 2-10 seasons.
  • When a player retires, they are automatically replaced by a new 100k player.

Season Changes:

• Season games are now 9 innings.
• Games will now "mercy rule" if a team is winning by more than 10 after the third inning.
• The promotion algorithm will now strive to keep bots out of higher tiers, in our competitive leagues.

Scouting Reports:

• Scouts have gotten an upgrade to the legibility of their reports.
• Reports now include player talents.

Talent Changes:

• Players are now locked to specific talents based on their genetics, and these cannot be changed or selected.

Simulation Tuning:

• Pitch quality will now scale with pitching skill for a more realistic feel.
• Batters will now try to hit the ball where it’s pitched (and we distinguish between LH and RH), leading to more realistic hit distributions. This is in preparation for future lefty vs righty functionality.
• We have slightly lowered outfielder reaction time.

🔧 What's Fixed

Talents:

• Fixed a bug where the High Ground talent was not working correctly.
• Fixed a bug where talents caused unintended effects at high levels.
• Fixed a bug where walks would count towards at bats.
